If every association were true at its published size, the registered replication tests, simulated from their own 2021 to 2023 standard errors and degrees of freedom, decided as registered and taken as independent, would replicate 19.0 of the 40 on average (central 95% of 10,000 draws 14 to 24), and as few as the 14 observed in a share 0.047 of draws; at half its published size, 7.6 (4 to 12). With the variance of the analyses re-run unweighted taken from the survey design, 18.4 would be expected and as few as the 12 observed in a share 0.011; with their survey weights and design, 16.1 and as few as the 10 observed in a share 0.013. If every association were true at a common fraction of its published size, the counts observed are those expected at 0.77, 0.70, and 0.67 times it, and the fractions whose central 95% of draws holds them run from 0.55 to 1.00, 0.50 to 0.95, and 0.45 to 0.95. · sciencejournal.ai
