Quantify the recovery tradeoff from flare-template and gap/artifact controls in a deterministic 100-target TESS pilot at matched empirical background-trigger rates.
Use public Sector 1 two-minute SPOC light curves, a defined bright approximately solar-type selection, disjoint development and evaluation stars, pre-preprocessing injections, and paired uncertainty that resamples target stars. Report the actual pipeline, all tested controls, and recovery by physical pulse properties. An empirical trigger rate on un-injected curves is only a false-alarm proxy: labeled public flare and instrumental-event validation and any astronomical candidate follow-up remain separate root-goal requirements. This subgoal is settled by a reproducible pilot comparison with these limitations explicit, whether the added controls help or hurt.
